Mexico Pilot Checklist
Departing DVT
- Black Mexico bag
- File VFR flight plan. Advise FSS of the date and approximate time of return flight across the board into the U.S.
- Take copies of APIS/eAPIS and General Declaration paperwork
- Open flight plan before crossing the border (PHX RCO 122.60)
Land and Departing Mexico- Clearing Customs and Immigration
The pilot pays for:
- Landing fee
- Takeoff fee
- Flight plan (will have 3 different stamps)
- Fuel (use VISA card assigned to aircraft)
Passengers must pay all customs and immigration fees.
Pilot Duties After Landing at Cuidad Oregon (MMCN)
- Unload pax and baggage, go to Customs and Immigration inside the terminal
- Order fuel from the fuel building
- Go to flight plan building and file flight plan. Take the flight plan to Customs and Immigration and get it stamped
- Get your pilot visa from Customs and Immigration
- Go to Commandante Office and get flight plan stamped
- Go back to Flight Plan building, get flight plan stamped, and turn in flight plan
- Stop at Commandante office and let him know you’re ready to depart
- Collect passengers and baggage from the terminal
Stamps on flight plan
- Flying in Mexico- 3 stamps
- Returning to U.S.- 4 stamps
Leaving Mexico
- Pilot MUST obtain a transponder squawk from Prescott Radio BEFORE crossing the board into the U.S. (Nogales RCO 122.4, Yuma RCO 122.2)
- Update Prescott Radio with your arrival time for U.S. Customs
